Magazine Spread
This magazine project helped me learn how to set type and create a clear, engaging spread. I focused on showcasing Taylor Swift’s athleticism during her Eras Tour. I started by sketching three different grid layouts and chose one to build digitally in InDesign. I used hierarchy in typography to guide the reader’s eye, making the title bold and attention-grabbing, while keeping the body text smaller but easy to read. One challenge was cutting Taylor Swift out of the original photo—I used Photoshop to remove the background and manually fix areas around her hair. Through several revisions, I saw how small changes in spacing, alignment, and color can really improve a design. I paid close attention to whitespace to avoid a cluttered look. The final layout features Taylor on one side and neatly organized columns of text on the other, resulting in a clean, balanced, and visually effective magazine spread.
