Light Painting
For this project, we were asked to explore how light can be used creatively in photography. I chose to experiment with light painting by using long exposure and adjusting the shutter speed. I shot my images in a dark room and used a small flashlight to draw shapes and lines in the air while the shutter was open. It took a lot of trial and error to figure out the timing and movements, but I ended up with three images I really like. Each photo captures a different design—one is more abstract, another looks like a spiral, and the last one almost forms letters. I learned how important it is to control the light source and move smoothly. What I enjoyed most was how unpredictable and fun the process was. This exercise helped me better understand exposure and made me more confident working in manual mode with creative lighting techniques.
